Vectron Biosolutions was founded in 2008 as a result of more than 15 years of research in Professor Svein Valla's research group at the Department of Biotechnology at the University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim, Norway.
Professor Svein Valla was a world-leading expert on gene expression in bacteria and vector technology with more than 100 publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals. His research has resulted in a novel technology platform for production of recombinant proteins that can be used for higher protein production levels at lower costs and increased solubility. This innovative technology comprises Vectron's core technology.
To complement this expression vector technology, Vectron Biosolution acquired its microbial secretion technology in 2021. The secretion technology was developed by Professor Kelly Hughes at the University of Utah. Hughes is a world-leading scientist on microbial flagella with more than 100 publications on the topic.
